Tjapukai Aborigine Cultural Center

Sorry I missed writing about this when I was in Cairns. I took a trip our to see this center. It was a little hokey, but very interesting, and I had read a lot of books and knew some things already about aborigine culture in general. This group has created a 5 part presentations/demonstrations as well as a small but great museum: dance and music, traditional medicines; boomerang and spear throwing (I couldn't, but I tried); the creation myths of the Tjapukai, and history as seen through their eyes.
Here's a link that tells more about the Tjapukai people. I had a chance to talk with one of the men, and he was very interesting.
